This is an Egyptian New Kingdom carved hardwood oversee shabti figure with traces of painted decoration on the lower half of the body and particularly around the head. The facial features can be seen and the paint is in red and black pigment

Provenance: Previously with HG Wilts, UK.  Ex. collection of Julian Bird, London, UK; acquired in Criterion auctions, London, 2013.  Formerly in a USA private collection formed in the 1950's and 1960's.
