A Roman Terracotta Oil Lamp with Dancer | Circa 1st-3rd Century AD

This oil lamp has a wide surface area and is rich in terracotta colouring. There are three strong semicircles on either side, on top of the lamp with a figure of a dancer in the middle.  This oil lamp has a short nozzle and lug handle. In fine condition.

Size: 188 grams, 12.5cm (5"). 

Provenance: Purchased in 2020 from a London specialist auction. Property of a North London collector; previously from an old collection formed in the 1980s.
