A Classical Oil Lamp Filler | Roman or Greek c. 4th Century BC - 1st Century AD

This is a classical Greek or Roman Oil lamp filler, spouted vessel for replenishing oil lamps.  With a side looped handle and a small spout. Olive oil is believed to have been the primary source of lamp fuel used in the Mediterranean region. In good condition, minor damage to the end of spout and base, general surface wear.

Provenance: Purchased in 2020 in the UK. From: antique dealer MA. Previous ownership, collected since 1980, a private British collection.
