A Byzantine Bronze Stirring Implement with Bird Finial | 9th-11th century AD

This is a Byzantine bronze stirring implement with bird finial which includes a perspex display stand.  It is in very good condition. The circular pattern used for the eye is implemented onto the body to create the texture of feathers.

Provenance: Purchased in 2020 from a UK auction house. Previously part of an old UK collection formed in the 1980's.
