A Roman Terracotta Oil Lamp with Bust | Circa 1st-3rd Century AD

This terracotta oil lamp has a wide surface area, a lug handle and a deep nozzle. In the centre of the lamp is an image of a man wearing a toga and holding a sceptre. All the decor on the lamp is clearly defined and is in fine condition.

Provenance: Purchased in 2020 from a London specialist auction, the property of a European gentleman living in London; formerly from an old private collection formed in the early 1980s.
