A Hellenistic Terracotta Head | 4th-1st century BC

This is a terracotta Hellenistic head with a figure of the goddess, Demeter. The facial features are well defined and the face has a well-rounded chin. The hair is parted in a wavy fashion. Overall, this is grey in colouring but is in fine condition.

Provenance: Purchased in 2020 from a London specialist auction. Formerly with a private Netherlands collection; previously in an old collection since before 1980.
